Take joy in giving thanks in all things! Here are 2 gratitude activities you can do outdoors with your buddy while social distancing:
The Thankful Tree
This thankful tree is very easy to do. It’s branches display reminders of grateful hearts. Have fun going outdoors with your buddy to collect different types of sticks and then build your very own tree!
Paper (you can shape the paper as hearts by cutting it)
Collect as much sticks as you can, then with a ribbon hold them together to make it look like a tree. Tip: It is very helpful to put them in a vase that way you can ensure the tree will never loose it’s form. Cut the paper in heart shapes and write with your buddy in every heart what are you both thankful for. Hang the hearts from the branches in different lengths. It’s that easy!
The Thankful Turkey
You will have such a fun time with these pinecone and handprint turkeys. Go on a nature walk with your buddy and find pinecones in all sizes, they are very easy to do!
After you find all the pinecones, you can have fun painting the turkey with acrylic paint, then let dry. Trace both of your hands in a sheet of paper to make the turkey’s feathers. Each finger is a feather where you can write something you are thankful for. Cut the traced hand and paste it in the pinecone finally add the eyes to complete your thanksgiving creation.
