Athletes for Kids ( AFK), is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating communities where children of ALL abilities are celebrated. We are much much more than that.

MENTORING CHILDREN

Athletes For Kids serves children in 1st through 9th grade who have special needs or disabilities of all kinds. We carefully match each child with a qualified high school athlete who commits to mentoring a child for one to three years. We believe that modeling acceptance and inclusion strengthens and transforms our communities.

LEADERSHIP & YOUTH

Our program is distinctive in that it pairs a high school athlete with a child in a developing mentorship. Each mentorship is as unique as the two students involved. The student athletes undergo intensive trainings both as a group and in one-on-one sessions. They receive ongoing support, guidance and instruction so that they may become the compassionate leaders of tomorrow.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Our mentorships help children who have special needs reach their potential by developing greater self-confidence, self-esteem, and essential life skills. Our mentorships help our student athletes develop character, leadership skills, and commitment. Our communities benefit by these mentorships which foster positive environments where all children are treated with dignity and respect.
