DIY Play-Doh, DIY Flour Paint and More!

You won’t have to go to the store to make these 3 fun crafts with your buddy!

DIY Play Doh

Materials

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup of salt
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • food coloring

STEPS

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a big pot and then put it onto the stove – (medium heat)
  2. At first, the mixture is quite runny, but after a few minutes on the stove, it forms a dough.
  3. Keep stirring continuously, make sure to stir the bottom of the pot so it does not burn.
  4. In about 2 minutes your mixture will be like dough.
  5. Take it out, allow it to cool and knead like bread a few times.
  6. Divide the dough into as many colors as you want and add food coloring!
  7. Food coloring goes a long way – so start off with a tiny amount

*Please make sure there is an adult present when heating things on the stove and refer to your buddy’s emergency card to check for any allergies

DIY Confetti Bowl

MATERIALS

  • Confetti
  • 1 balloon
  • Mod Podge Gloss
  • Sponge brush
  • Scissors
  • Vase, cup, or something else to hold the balloon while you work

STEPS

  1. Inflate your balloon, then set it onto a vase so it’s sturdier to work with.
  2. Add Mod Podge to the top half of the balloon with a sponge brush, then sprinkle confetti all over. You can remove the balloon from the vase and hold it to add the confetti on the sides.
  3. Let dry and add another coat of glue and confetti. Repeat. When you feel like the confetti is thick enough, let dry for a final time. You will need to add several coats until you achieve a thick coat (about 3 – 4 coats; this is for stability).
  4. Let it dry for 8 – 10 hours
  5. Turn your balloon and pop it with a needle
